Windows XP

Windows 98/98 Second Edition - follow these steps:

There is no built-in UPnP support for these operating systems.

UPnP only is used if the Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing client has been installed.

Windows ME - follow these steps:

Click on Start → Settings → Control Panel → Add/Remove Programs
Select the Windows Set-Up tab
Select the "Windows Set-up" Tab
In the Components Field select Communications
In the Components Field scroll down and uncheck the box to the left of Universal Plug and Play
Click "OK"

Windows XP - follow these steps:

Click on Start → Control Panel → Administrative Tools
Double click on the Services icon
Scroll down until you see the SSDP Discovery Service and double click on it
Select the General tab.
In the Startup Type: field change the option to Disabled and click OK
